Ali Sikandar was popularly known as Jigar Moradabadi. He was one of the most admired Urdu poets of his time. He was from a family of poets, his father and paternal grand father were also poets. He was born in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh in 1890 AD in erstwhile British India and passed away in 1960 AD in independent India. He was regarded as the King of Urdu Ghazal. His poetry is still alive and kicking even after 60 years of his death.
Its very hard to pick the best of his best work but I have shared my favorite ghazals in this episode, there are still many I couldn’t share due to time constraints. I hope you will enjoy the work of Jigar Moradabadi.
