Iftikhar Arif is a living legend of Urdu Adab. He was born on 21st March 1940 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He migrated to Pakistan in 1965.
He was associated with Pakistan Radio & Pakistan Television for a long time. He famous for a TV program Kasauti that he hosted. He has been conferred with lots of awards, naming a few Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz & Faiz International award for poetry

His work has been translated in other languages as well.
He died on 15th April 2004 in Lucknow. India.
